Gallery 1412   Seattle performance space with concerts scheduled frequently featuring (generally) local experimental musicians and artists. Usually a suggested donation as the cover charge. Wonderful resource, we are lucky to have this space.

Chapel Performance Space   A multi-purpose venue at the Good Shepherd Center, local avant garde and sound art supporter Nonsequitur presents about ten concerts a month featuring the range of locally and internationally renowned (and not yet known) artists, composers, and musicians.

Portland Radio Authority   On-line freeform radio station that is volunteer-run and donation-supported.

Perfect Sound Forever    On-line music publication with a focus on the experimental and unheard art forms and their practitioners.

The Wire   The torchbearers of experimental music, the avant garde, and sound art in general, this London-based magazine has a significant web presence, but find the more substantial print edition at various newsstands in and around Seattle. Visit Resonance FM, an on-line radio station established by the London Musician's Collective that has ties to The Wire.

U B U W E B   A vast on-line resource of the strange, the ground-breaking, and the often out-of-print. Hardly just music, this site specializes in providing films, text, and photographs.

Avant Garde Project   It's not stealing, it's out-of-print! Search the lists, find something you like, right-click-save-as and wait for new-found treasures to arrive. In general, this site will sate your classical and avant chamber sensibilities.


Of course, there are a host of labels, artists, presses, and flag-wavers for the entire breadth of experimental popular music. Short of listing them here, check the playlists for the show and web search the artist(s) and/or label(s) that struck your fancy.
